Expert salvage. The 10/9 mod or the +30 mod can get you a lot of gold. Lucky. I got a rare Half Moon of Pruning, of all things, today.

I'd keep it if you don't have anything better yet. Use it to bash the hell out of things until you get something better (Assuming you meet requirements of the weapon. Then, salvage it for the upgrades.

I can't remember if you have to break down the weapon to get the unlocked upgrade component. If you have to break it down first, I would break it down, and then put it on a max damage hammer (if you are a hammer player), if not, sell it.

I love hammers for PvP. Nothing like knocking someone down 4 or 5 times in a few seconds to really tick them off.

I hope I can butt in with a question here, I have a Vampiric Shortbow of Enchanting -- not quite max damage (extra dmg. while hexed). The Vampiric string is 4/1 and the grip is 16% longer enchantment...I was told to salvage it, I'd probably get more money than for the bow as a whole.
My question is this: If I salvage it, how do I know which part I will get, the string (which is worth more money) or the grip? Is there any way to know? You only get one upgrade, right? The bow itself would probably be more than the grip cost, so I'm afraid to salvage it and only get the grip. |

it's 50/50 to get anything at all. unless it's been changed very recently (and i dont recall any large updates in the last week or 2) you might end up salvaging 14 wood planks out of your so and so bow of so and so. happened to me. i bought one of those "everything must go" packs from someone quitting the game, selling account, who knows. there were TWO hammers with cruel hammer hafts. got wood from one and a grip of +4 armor vs elemental dmg (worthless) from the other. so before you salvage it make damn sure you dont want to use it as-is.

It's great that these prices are posted....the problem I always find is selling some of the not so popular upgrades. So many people always want max stuff and have all that money to spend, and no one ever thinks well i will spend less than 75% for a good enough upgrade. Plus you got all those out there that buy and sell to make profit and offer crap for your stuff....I hate selling to others.

Lol! I sold a Vampiric Shadow Bow last night. It was worth at least 2x what I sold it for. The buyer kept saying...you know you're cheating yourself, right? Guys if ya'll ever need anything, I am a packrat. Whisper me and I'll check to see if I've got one. I usually sell stuff for about half the market value.

I think the item drops system is back to normal. What i mean is that whenever i farm, i would get weapons that is usefully for my character. Last week, i got 3 gold swords and 2 purple hammers while i was farming!
